Hello, my name is Dario; as Italian EVS volunteer I carried out my 5-month volunteering experience in Bhubaneswar (India), hosted by the Indian NGO JRP.
Why did you decide to have this experience?
I love to know new countries, their peoples and cultures. I volunteered in Italy and I desired to have this experience in another continent.
Tell me your first impressions once you arrived/landed in the hosting country
I felt happy and ready to fill myself with new experiences: language, culture, food, traditions, believing, behaving etc., and last but not least the new job.
Which is your best memory of your EVS experience?
Planting trees together with children of rural villages. See the happiness in the eyes of the children I brought to watch the sea.
Tell me 3 words representing your mobility?
Life is smile.
Finally, do you think it was useful? Why?
Sure. Because it is an experience that makes you live in another part of the world and makes you understand how to know the “Other”, to respect his culture and live within it. It also make you grow your personality and let you understand yourself, your limits and which one of that you can go over.
